Hype Whore

When I was asked to do a collaboration with FreestyleXtreme, an e-shop that sells streetwear and the so-called 'skateboard clothes', it made me think about where my style has come up until this point. I had come from wanting this kind of clothes through hating it to accepting it and liking some bits of it. I don't want to feel guilty or feel like I've 'sold my soul', just because my style now is quite far away from Lolita, it's not the Western concept of Japanese fashion anymore. Ironically enough, by coming to wear things that are more socially acceptable (not that I care about that), I've come to the actual core of Japanese street style, which is much less about Lolita and Fairy Kei and Visual Kei etc. etc., and more about street brands like BAPE or BOY London.
I guess I just wanted to let this off my chest as a reaction to people who feel like I've become a walking advertisement, or changed in order to fit into the university world (which isn't really happening). It was also quite a challenge for me to choose something that would go into the part of streetwear I can relate to... but in the end I went for this Neff HYPE cap, which is just perfect for the troll in me.

HYPE CAP - C/O NEFF VIA FREESTYLEXTREME, GALAXY LEGGINGS - C/O ROMWE, LEAVE THE BOY ALONE MEN'S TANK - BOY LONDON, PINK SWEATSHIRT - C/O OASAP, PINK LACE SOCKS - TOPSHOP, CROSS NECKLACE - C/O ROMWE, PINK STONE RING - PRIMARK, CREEPERS - T.U.K

And so I trolled myself (and everybody else) and created the ultimate Lookbook outfit including creepers, galaxy print, cross, spikes, BOY London gear, and an actual HYPE button right on the top of my head. I wonder if I can make it into the TOP page, even though I'm not levitating in the air...

You know what to do with this look...

  1. I'd like it a lot more without the frill on socks, but that's just a small detail. Otherwise it's wonderful!
Could you please also post the outfits without the frame? (or a link?:)) Looks really nice and artsy, but kind of distracting.

    1. Thanks!!
I'm sorry if you find the colourful background distracting, I edited the pictures this way, because I find it much less distracting and visually functioning than my university room... I don't have the originals though, I usually don't keep them. :S
